SERVE

We have implemented 7-steps that are to be completed in the screening process before anyone is approved to work with minors within one of our program expressions.

Please read the steps below and fill out the contact form.

Step 1

It is required that anyone interested in a position with minors attend a prerequisite on-ramp/orientation class. This class will give the individual an understanding of all policies, procedures, and protocols, as well as the organization’s vision, values, and program practices.

Step 2

All applicants are required to complete a signed application. This application gives leadership permission to request, run, and review, a local, national, and international law enforcement criminal background check. This will be included vetting the applicant with public registries of state, national, and international sex offenders. It will also include vetting all listed references on the application and other agencies the applicant may have been involved with.

Step 3

All applicants clearing steps 1-2 will be interviewed by a senior level director and deployment team member. The interview process and questions have been vetted with experts in “crimes against children”, “law enforcement agencies”, “established counselors”, and other several other organizations related to the safety of children. The interview will consist of questions that will reveal to the leader one’s motives for wanting to work with minors, their values, and their interpersonal relationships. All hits on a criminal background check will be discussed with divisional and departmental leadership, and then discussed with the individual.

Step 4

All applicants clearing steps 1-3, will then be vetted through other leaders within the organization giving the leader the opportunity to reveal any information that might be important to the decision-making process of placing the individual in the organization/ministry capacity.

Step 5

All applicants clearing steps 1-4 will move into the final stage of the screening process. The applicants file will be reviewed by the Executive Director of the ministry and deployment and placement team members. (Application, Background Checks, Interview Response, Reference Responses, Internal Approval Processes).

Step 6

All applicants clearing steps 1-5 will be either denied or approved by the Executive Director of the ministry and deployment team. If approved, the applicant will proceed to step

Step 7

When approved for placement, the applicant will be placed with a ministry director for observation and assignment.
